This week's poll is all about resurrection. Does a character coming back to life in an anime enhance the experience? Or is it a cheap way to keep a dead horse kicking?

The question: Do you feel resurrecting a dead character in an anime is tasteful?:
  • When characters are born again, my enjoyment of the series quadruples!
  • I am excited to see past characters brought back to life.
  • If done in a realistic and tasteful way, I don't mind dead characters coming back to life.
  • I feel dead characters should remain dead to solidify the story.
  • I think all the characters should die.

I think resurrecting characters is very tough to do correctly, especially as it can be seen as a cheap plot device.

Honestly I don't mind dead characters going back to life if it's done realistically and in a way that fits the Anime. However, I would much rather have these characters "cheat death" in a certain way, than having them die like that (muh feels).

Do you have a compilation of all the last polls? I have a few question ideas that I would like to suggest if they weren't used already!

I don't really see why anyone would mind resurrecting a character if it fits the storyline and doesn't ruin the flow, so the middle option it is!

Would prefer if characters are brought back in a realistic sense rather than some crazy Deus ex Machima event. An example is actually a recent review I saw of SAO Spoiler (Click to View).

But if its central to the story and done right, I usually don't mind.

I feel that if the resurrection fits into the overall story, and is not a forced thing for fan service that it is a good thing. Series like Hellsing, DBZ, etc do this well because there are things in the story to allow for resurrection to happen.

This is hard for me to decide. If we're talking about dying in more of a mental way, and being "resurrected" with some new personality, I enjoy the fuck out of that. But if we're talking like, DBZ level resurrection, bad.
